So many and so long a time to take

Here are two pairs of photographs, first of each pair taken on November 8th in Helsinki, and the second on November 9th. We got a lot of snow then.

During last night the temperature rose to +2 °C, and snow melted. Now it is freezing again.

On feeding his internal drives

The photographs were taken on November 6th.

This morning the temperature was -8 °C when I started riding the bicycle, but it dropped lower during the ride. During the evening the weather is warming up, and during the night there might even be some rain in addition to fresh snow. That is quite fitting, as Slush 2016 starts tomorrow. Some signs were already to be seen in Helsinki.

The photographs were taken on November 5th in Luukki.

Last night we got a little bit of snow, and less than 1 cm of it still remains. The landscape keeps changing. The length of day is now 6 h 36 min, and days are shortening quite fast.

Or even in the illusion

The photographs were taken on October 29th at Pirttimäki.

Today wasn't a great day for commuting by bicycle. In the morning it rained. Even though I was wearing a waterproof jacket, I got soaking wet due relative humidity of 100 percent. In the morning the temperature was +6 °C, and in the afternoon +2 °C. I had headwind both ways. My hands got cold, in the morning because of the rain, and in the afternoon because of the strong and cold wind.

The lake is upon you

The photographs were taken at Meiko on October 20th.

In three days I have got over six hours of exercise riding the bicycle. This morning the road conditions were challenging, because the packed snow was melting into slush. I had to walk the bicycle part of the way, and it took 1 hour 10 minutes to get to work. In the afternoon it was better, just one hour.

The weather is warming up, and the road conditions are getting worse. Snow and ice are starting to melt, and riding the bicycle can be challenging.
