Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror

Today I went with my daughter for a walk in Pirttimäki near lake Bodom in Espoo. Pirttimäki is part of Nuuksio, but it has been a long time since I last visited it. There was 2 cm of snow on the ground, making the landscape look like winter. We also visited the cafe, which was almost full, as quite a lot of people had come to enjoy the outdoors.

The photographs were taken on December 25th, 2014.

(Posting title is from a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke, translated by Joanna Macy and Anita Barrows. This turned up in a posting by Maria Popova.)
