Sure, I wish the universe could clear its throat

I commuted by bicycle also today, and I have got eight hours of exercise already this week. I need some rest, the big muscles are cramping and it doesn't feel so good.

It was wet when I walked in Luukki on May 29th, as you see in these photographs.

(Posting title is from the poem Miss Peach: The College Years by Catie Rosemurgy.)

Juha, I don't know how old you are but if you are over 40 maybe you should consider taking magnesium supplement. It made a huge difference for me in terms of muscle pain and fatigue. In fact I don't know any guy who is active and over 40 who doesn't take magnesium.

Cedric, thanks for the advice. I'm well over 40, but I'm not sure whether the muscle cramps are due to age. It may be also due to changing my diet towards vegetarian, and that may have made some difference in magnesium intake. Taking magnesium supplement continuously doesn't feel that attractive, but it might be worth trying out on those weeks when I'm getting more exercise than usually. I read a bit about this, and apparently one should be careful in mixing various supplements, such as calcium, zinc and magnesium, because to some degree they cancel each other out.

You are quite right about mixing supplements. Magnesium is the only supplement I take and I don't take it daily. I take it when I start to get that tired, crampy feeling in my legs. Then I will take it for 2-3 days.
I was vegetarian for many years but gave up on such a diet as I found it far too difficult to prepare properly balanced meals when we came back to Australia. Unlike in the UK, Australia is not vegetarian friendly. Instead, I now eat a varied diet with small portions and as little processed (i.e. anything that comes in packaging) food as possible. So far so good.

I'll try out magnesium to see how it goes, next week I'm once again commuting by bicycle, probably every day.

Finland isn't that vegetarian friendly either, at least outside the big cities. Last summer when driving around Finland in a car, in some roadside restaurants the vegetarian choices were either non-existent or really awful in content and taste.
