As breathing regularly and not falling down too often

Here is a diverse set of photographs taken at Vuokatti in Sotkamo. It is time to go forward, next I have photographs taken at Imatra waiting for posting.

After returning back home I have done quite a lot of walking, 1 1/2...2 hours per day, mostly in Luukki, but on Sunday also in Meiko, exploring some of the more remote areas when there are no established paths to follow. I didn't get lost even though I admit to being a bit unsure about my precise location a couple of times. But using a compass and a map regularly does help.

(Posting title is from the poem Superbly Situated by Robert Hershon.)

Fine images from your trip, Juha - I just wandered a bit through your flickr stream.

It was fine to be traveling - even though it wasn't feeling like winter at all. And the children coped surprisingly well, not too much of "Are we there yet?" questions. ;-)

Ah, the joys of traveling with children... Ours are old enough now (12+12+17) that these questions rarely come up any more (besides, the now how to read the routing device, even to program it).

At least you had some snow - here in the valley it's completely brown/grey/green, only if you travel up to 1000m above sea level it gets more like winter.

I remember the time the questions started something like 10 kilometers from home. And the youngest one often got sick in the car and vomited. Those times seems to be behind, fortunately.
