He’d earned the right to happy endings

There are still a couple of days until the shortest day of the year, but it is dark enough, length of day is 5 h 47 min. The weather has been overcast, but yesterday and today were good days for commuting by bicycle, and I enjoyed it quite a lot.

Tomorrow is the last work day this year, two weeks of vacation ahead. Not bad at all, I hope to relax, get a lot of sleep, and read at least a dozen books.

(Posting title is from the poem Consolation by Wisława Szymborska, translated by Clare Cavanagh and Stanislaw Baranczak.)
