When there’s no firewood left

Here are photographs from Saturday, taken after sunset at Luukki, when walking from lake Väärälampi to lake Halkolampi. It was cold, about -16 °C, and it was nice to find that someone had left a fire going on at the fireplace at the north end of Halkolampi. However, I felt it was a bit unsafe to have a fire without anyone looking after it, so I put most of it out before leaving.

(Posting title is from the poem The Sacred Flame by Marin Sorescu, translated by Michael Hamburger.)
