The sad beauty of a wet day

Water levels have been raising still, thanks to the almost excessive amounts of rain we have had. There have been dry days also, but rain has been dominating, or at least it feels so.

Today I went with our eldest daughter to the Luukki forests, near Ketunkorpi, "Fox swamp", which is a place with many kinds of forests, swamps and lakes to explore. It was clouded, there was some fog, and it felt good to be out walking.

why "sad" beauty?

@Mark: That was the subjective feeling of the photographer. I don't know whether it shows in the photographs.

Now that most leaves have fallen off trees, there will be a long dark time with short days and sun low on the horizon.

Some years ago I didn't feel this sadness so strongly, but that has changed. I hope there will be snow early, it helps a lot. Even though last winter I got angy with shoveling snow all too much...
