Today we get a little bit of sunshine in between clouds and rain. But this didn't do much to diminish the wetness. For the photography the rain isn't too bad - it brings out the colors - but for the photographer this is not so good - he is starting to feel subdued.

Hmm ... didn't take an image the whole weekend. Was programming instead or reading javadocs :)
I was tempted to go out today though, and mostly because of your images. They are incredibly inspiring little pieces of art. Have you ever thought of making a book? Not a one day per book book, no, I mean wading through a hundred thousand images (or maybe 10000 squares, I love your squares, you have become a master in that field), wading through 10000 images, pondering about it for a month or two (or even only a week, would be more like you), and making a book of perfect harmony. It would probably not be a top seller, I guess people don't buy books of twigs, mushrooms and leaves, but it would be a piece of peace. Think about it.

Both are at ISO 1600, both have been converted from RAW, treated with NeatImage and sharpened. You know which is the LX5 :)
Incredible, huh? I guess I would put that quality up for an Image of the Day any time.
A book is certainly tempting, something that would provide a frame for thinking about the photographs and their relations. But I'm currently not keen on having such a project on top of everything else. Maybe a project for retirement...
I guess you are working on a book - at least there have been some hints on this.
And indeed, the ISO 1600 test photograph of the LX5 was impressive. This would make the LX5 my dream camera, allowing to take handheld images during the dark winter months. Now I need to use a mini-tripod and 1-8 second exposures with the LX3.
But there is the workflow issue. Apparently the LX5 jpeg engine is not quite up to the task at high ISO, so I would need to change my shooting habits and switch to RAW. Still, tempting...
My book is on ice, and it is only the SoFoBoMo project anyway. No, I got the idea because of the sheer number of your images. This is really a body to select from.
How is it for you? Do you remember your images? I do mine, but there are fewer and due to my workflow I spend a lot of time with those that get published.
As to RAW on the LX5, I'd suggest shooting RAW+JPG and only converting if needed. But, yes, it won't be less than 10 minutes per image.
I do remember some photographs, but most I forget. In fact, sometimes when I search for photographs to be included in a presentation I get a suprise: Did I take this photograph? Really?
Today when it was dark I had to shoot at ISO 200 and 0.5 second, making it hard to get non-blurry images handheld. The LX5 would have been great, allowing fast enough exposures so that most photographs would succeed handheld.
