Driving

Fueling, originally uploaded by jiihaa.

Today was a day when I needed to do a lot of driving around the city. We also got some new snow, very wet but white and fresh nevertheless. There was little opporturnities for photography except once when I was filling up the car, and once when I had a short walk when it was snowing.

This kind of clouded and snowy weather will stick with us for a few days, it seems, except that some of the snow will perhaps come down as rain. Not very inspiring time for photography (thick clouds, no time to take photographs in daytime) - or it may just be that I'm not inspired after all the driving.

Not inspired? Tsk, tsk. What did you expect? Being kissed by a Godess? Is the muse not good enough any more?? Huh???

My friend, if that image is not inspired, I'd have a hard time naming something that is :)

Love it.

Thanks for putting some (encouraging) perspective on things.

In retrospect, it is difficult to keep feelings about various things in neat compartments, and yesterday was a day with a lot of gray/negative tones - needing to get medical help (antibiotics) for one of the children, and all kinds of other business (as in busy). And some of that leaked into the feelings I have about photography.

Well, if there is a muse, I guess she has patience with us. Or we have to have with her.

I know these days, and somehow, sometimes being distracted by things we care for or things we'd like to not have to care for, sometimes, somehow our cumulated experience runs on autopilot and - produces a gem. Not really by its own, because it's we who have put our soul into it, tended and nursed it for years, but sometimes, somehow it can make it on its own :)
